REDDNATION is an (Aboriginal) Hip-Hop group representing Edmonton, Alberta and Regina, Saskatchewan.

HISTORY
The group was established in Grande Prairie, AB in 2000. Touring extensively across Canada, they eventually became the best (Native) hip-hop group in Canada.   From the onset it was apparent that RN was a diamond in the rough and over time their musical contributions to the Aboriginal music community would prove to be priceless. Relying on their traditional values and contemporary influences, they’ve helped bring native hip-hop one step closer to the mainstream.  Backed by solid production with a global appeal; they stand alone from other groups as they attract both the native and non-native audience.  Their live shows legendary; their presence commanding; very few existing groups have the game on lock the way RN does.

Select appearances on Star TV, Much Music, Much More Music, ACCESS, APTN, CBC and City TV, prove RN is one of the best Aboriginal music success stories. Their dedication and heartfelt appreciation to their fans is second-to-none, and they are held in high-regard as positive role models; a reputation they’ve earned through the countless performances and youth workshops they’ve facilitated over the years.   

THE ALBUM THAT CHANGED IT ALL
In May 2006 they released their second album "Now or Never". It was that album that would go on to become the undisputed best native hip-hop album of 2006 winning TWO prestigious awards in the "Best Rap or Hip-Hop" category. The first was at the inaugural Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards in Winnipeg, MB. They then continued their domination by winning at the Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards in Toronto, ON a few weeks later. These win were THEN followed by yet another TWO awards at the 2007 Alberta Aboriginal Music Awards. All in all, RN is a 4-time award winner that has significantly raised the bar, as no previous group had achieved that level of success before, winning four major Aboriginal music awards with one album.    

In the summer of 2006 they shot their first music video (VideoFACT) for the infectious single "Fabulous". In the winter they received yet another VideoFACT grant to shoot a second music video for the club anthem "Wiggle Dem Toes".  This marked the first time a Native music group had won two grants in a single year from Much Music’s Video FACT grant program.   

More than just a rap group, they are the people’s choice.  From underdogs to champions, they are clearly at the top of the game and poised to break down even more barriers and stereotypes for Aboriginal urban music.
