Redwire Magazine ROCKS!

January 2nd, 2007 by Marcel Petit

Happy New Year! I survived another year, and am blessed to have met so many amazin people, some of which I can accredit to Myspace, Hi5, and professional connections through my travels and attendance at Conferences, Galas and well. parties…LOL!

Here on the Westcoast I am a part of an amazin Board, of which contains the most talented, intellectual and open-minded, political conscious group of individuals you would ever meet.  I am always impressed with the respectful nature my peers have in the production of the Redwire Magazine.  If you haven’t heard of Redwire,  you HAVE to check out their website: www.redwiremag.com

The magazine if beautiful to the eye, sleek and powerful in content, in speaking with readers I have heard that the content is life changing, in that, readers become more aware of the environment and political nature that surrounds them. ..not only does the magazine reflect a political message BUT is always up on what is HOT in the Aboriginal Media & Arts Community, you can find reviews of Books, Cds, Movies and interviews with some really amazin folks.   This creative visual is one that is free and widely distributed.  YES I am promoting the Mag for good reason, to encourage the Youth to become AWARE and let ya'll know to submit articles (19 n' under) "SHARE YOUR TALENT! SPEAK YOUR MIND!" Check out below for ways to contribute! Gilakasla!

www.Awaken100.net:  Redwire's  Native Youth Art Site
A chance to showcase your talent online and check out other young Native artists

Awaken100.net will be Redwire's  online gallery showcasing the talents of Native artists 29 and under. It features a small bio and gallery for each artist as well as an archive of Redwire's  past art shows and links.  We're viewing portfolios of artists who would like to be a part of it!   If you're interested in having your gallery on Awaken (or know someone who should be interested), talk to Taylor, Redwire's  arts wrangler, at taylor@redwiremag.com and let's build up this site and start showing off!

And of course, check out the website.  It's still sort of under construction, and it works best right now in Internet Explorer and Safari (sorry, Firefox.)
